It was ok, but title misleading.

I came across this book as I was looking for equations or ways to help your brain think like a genius. I think this book was mis-titled. While I do feel it was worth reading, it needed to be titled something else like "Bettering your life, time management and studies. I found it was more about learning how to schedule your time, thinking positively about situations, a little bit of moral values such as helping people and maybe they will come back to help you, a few quotes on how there isnt failure, just procedures that didnt work the first times you tried them. It was mentioned several times in the book, if you think this way you will become a genius. I felt the book was scattered in a wide arrangement of topics and then shoved into one book. I give it a 3 stars because it was worth reading but the title doesnt go with the book.

I like it a lot!

This book has excellent quotes (all of which are "out there" in Self-Improvement Land) but which have been forgotten by recent mainstream authors. With each quote, Mr. Connelly writes an essay which fit on one iPad Mini Kindle app page, second smallest font.
His quote/essay "chapters" include:
*Reframe failure and never give up
*Have patience and think long term
*Give away value all of the time
*Notice connections between everything and transfer lessons
*Think of life as a series of habits; notice your own, then build your own
*Always ask questions
*Avoid comparing yourself to others and trying to "fit in"
I thought chapters "Reframe", "Have patience", "Notice connections", and "Think of life" were especially good, and "Always ask" a decent read.
He could turn himself into the new Tony Robbins, Wayne Dyer, or Stephen Covey. Really. The entire book "7 Habits of Highly Effective People" can be boiled down to seven "habit sentences" and a clarifying paragraph apiece. This author gives more than that for each of his seven chapters!
If this author were to add some jargon, bold-face it, italicize the definitions, box-in the quotes he uses, add dramatic font style and size to his chapter titles (and maybe an icon or glyph like "7 Habits" does), include a little "latest research data" and between two to five anecdotal stories from people who have benefited from the "training" of each chapter, get a professionally designed and styled cover, and use "psychological spacing" of margins and paragraph separations, this book would sell MSRP $19.95 by a major publisher, Amazon Kindle price $12.99. The author would then be booked on the Today Show and the View.
All this said, the book is actually only 285 Kindle locations long, but added to it is "FREE eBook--How to Study:20 Tips" which doubles its size. Why do I like it so well? It's refreshingly direct.
If the author took the above steps, he could be "big". Download this now, so you can say, "I had his stuff when...."!!!

Quick easy read. Seemed like a better title would be "How to study to pass that test." Not disappointed enough to ask for a refund but I would not buy it again
