The first vacant place among the Twelve was filled by an eye-witness, competent to tell what Jesus did “from the baptism of John to the day when He was received up,” the very space covered by this Gospel. That “Gospel of peace,” which Cornelius heard from St. Peter (and hearing, received the Holy Ghost) was the same story of Jesus “after the baptism which John preached.” And this is throughout the substance of the primitive teaching. The Apostles act as men who believe that everything necessary to salvation is (implicit or explicit) in the history of those few crowded years. Therefore this is “the gospel.” Men there are who judge otherwise, and whose gospel is not the story of salvation wrought, but the plan of salvation applied, how the Atonement avails for us, how men are converted, and what privileges they then receive. But in truth men are not converted by preaching conversion, any more than citizens are made loyal by demanding loyalty. Show men their prince, and convince them that he is gracious and truly royal, and they will die for him. Show them the Prince of Life, and He, being lifted up, will draw all men unto Him; and thus the truest gospel is that which declares Christ and Him crucified. As all science springs from the phenomena of the external world, so do theology and religion spring from the life of Him who was too adorable to be mortal, and too loving to be disobeyed

Really, you should be reading Mileck, Freedman and Ziolkowsky, all of whom wrote excellent biographies of Hesse. The pictures are nice and everything, and if you really want to see every picture available of Hesse, this is a good start.

About the Author

Karen P. DePauw, PhD, is vice provost for graduate studies and dean of the graduate school at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. She has been involved with disability sport since 1981 and was on the original USOC Committee on Sports for the Disabled, on which she served for 12 years. She also served on the USOC Task Force on Disability and was a member of the Organizing Committee for the 1996 Paralympic Congress in Atlanta, Georgia.

Dr. DePauw has served as president of the International Federation on Adapted Physical Activity (IFAPA). She is a member of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD); American College of Sports Medicine; National Association for Physical Education in Higher Education (NAPEHE); National Consortium on Physical Education and Recreation for Handicapped (NCPERH); and North American Federation for Adapted Physical Activity. She also serves on the editorial board of Adapted Physical Activity Quarterly. Dr. DePauw enjoys playing golf, cycling, and traveling in her spare time.

Susan J. Gavron, PED, is associate professor emeritus at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. She has had a lifelong involvement with people and disabilities in a variety of program formats, including teaching, camping, and sport.
Dr. Gavron has been involved in research of elite athletes with disabilities at the national and international levels. She participated in the research advisory group for the USOC Committee on Sports for the Disabled. She also has extensive programming experience in physical education and leisure for individuals with disabilities. She has received numerous awards for her work and service to the state of Ohio. Recently retired, Dr. Gavron is a firefighter and first responder and enjoys photography, fishing, and reading in her leisure time.

10 Sexy Stories Review

There were a few things I really liked about this Erotica Bundle, 10 Sexy Stories Thank You Our Readers Erotica Bundle. First, I really loved that it was a compilation of stories by various different authors and that they were each focusing on different aspects of male-dominant erotica and second, I loved that each author had a section that included a little bio and directed you where you needed to go to find more work by the same author (brilliant).

I read this while camping with my nephews and I was sorry I didn't have any suitable adult male company after having read it. heheh. It was definitely hot. The short story, "Her Father's Best Friend" by Lolli Love was probably the one I found most erotic out of the whole book. But that's just my personal preference, they were all very sexy (if you like male dominant erotica, if you don't, this probably isn't the book for you).

The most solidly written short story, in my personal opinion, was "Cowboy Romp" by Sky Ashton. I loved the descriptive phrasing used, for instance "In the evening, haze hovers over the fields like a translucent amber blanket waiting to put the crops to bed, tucking them in sweetly before the chill of the night descends over all." and "It's muggy, but a comfortable kind of humid, like natures hug on your sun-kissed skin."

Those types of descriptions are what really draws me, as a reader, into the story. I want to know what it's like to be there, in that place, at that moment...and those kinds of phrases do that for me. I love it! I felt kind of bad for both Kendall & her sister, Carly in that story though. They both seemed like lovely girls who were in for nothing but heartache at the hands of Andrew. I know I'm probably reading too much into it, it's erotica, after all, and it's supposed to be hot (and this story was) but still, I couldn't help but care about the characters and THAT'S what good writing does, even though the story was only a few pages long, I really cared what happened to the characters portrayed. Very nicely written!

The only complaint I have regarding the entire book was that there were several fairly glaring grammar errors, which were probably just missed during proof-reading but they did not detract from the stories themselves at all.

In summation, many compilation stories claim to have 'something for everyone', everyone, that is, who enjoys the generalized theme of the book. This erotic compilation delivers on that better than most. If you like 'male dominant' stories you'll find something to appeal to every taste...then you can follow the trail of breadcrumbs that Candy Young leaves to find more of the same!

Very very bad writing! Instead of saying short stories, it needs to say super super short stories, less than a 5min read per story. I read a total of 3 and couldn't take the awful writing. I'm not picky when i comes to that, but when I have to read a line over and over because they leave a word out, not good!

Somewhat dry description of an interesting expedition....written in the style of the day. And, since i rather enjoy that old time, factual, dry descriptive stuff it was right up my ally. If you want Clive Cussler adventure, pass this one up. If you want facts, and an accurate story of cultural interaction in a remote part of the world about a century ago then go for it. I'm keeping this one.

Fascinating culinary history

This is a classic early American cookbook. As such, don't plan on easily making any of these recipes. First of all, our foods have changed, as well as our lifestyles. So have our cooking methods and equipment. Few of us have servants or slaves, wood fired stoves, or cooking hearths. We don't do our own butchering either.

This isn't a cookbook to use, but rather one to read, to realize how far we have come from the antebellum period to modern cooking. It's history, seen through the foods that fuel us and how they were prepared. It's a great source for doing reenactments. It's an excellent resource when studying the antebellum period as well.

For me, it's also entertaining. I remember some of the cooking my grandmother did, and this fills in some of the blanks too. If you have any interest in minimal processing, this can also help in those areas.

It's definitely worth reading, and in the Kindle format, it doesn't even take up bookshelf space. It's great when you only have a short time to read, as a few recipes or a single chapter can be interesting on its own.

Breezy but informative glimpse of domestic life in early America from the highly readable Mary Randolph. Not only a celebrated historical cookbook and housekeeping reference, but an interesting first-person account of the long-forgotten ways of doing things, from baking a cake to mixing your own furniture stripper. The book is better as inspiration and historical document than instruction manual.

The Sluagh Comes a Calling

I just finished reading "Soul Thief," and I can't get the image of the sluagh out of my mind. Seriously -- it's that horrific. I'm reminded of Lovecraft's monsters that are so awful the human mind can't quite grasp them, which leads to a special brand of madness. Not that I'm headed that direction (yet), but I might need to read something else (maybe Tales of Woe and Wonder) to get my head straight! A well-written story by a fine author of dark, Grimm-style fairy tales.

what kind of a creature is this?

This is a very good story. I just absolutely did not like the monster. yuck. I did not like the sister either, or the father. The mother was kind of hopeless, too. The cat was fine, and so was the boy who tells the story from his perspective.

I think the monster will be lurking in the corners of my nightmares for quite some time. ... I have never even heard of these. ugh.

Keach, Rev. Benjamin, was born in Stokehaman, England, Feb. 29, 1640. He found peace through Christ in his fifteenth year; and being unable to discover infant baptism or baptism by sprinkling in the Bible, and being fully satisfied that every believer should be immersed, he was baptized after the Savior’s example by John Russell, and united with a neighboring Baptist church. This community, perceiving his remarkable talents, encouraged him, when he was eighteen years old, to exercise his gifts as a minister.
At first he was an Arminian about the extent of the atonement and free will, but the reading of the Scriptures and the conversation of those who knew the will of God more perfectly relieved him from both errors. In 1668, in the twentyeighth year of his age, he was ordained pastor of the church of Horsleydown, Southward, London. The congregation increased so rapidly after Mr. Keach became pastor, that they had repeatedly to enlarge their house of worship.
Mr. Keach soon became a famous disputant on the Baptist side; he had taken Richard Baxter in hand, to the serious injury of the bishop of Kidderminster, and others had felt his heavy blows.
